Health, Safety and First Aid
NACC is undertaking a review of health, safety and first aid matters and implementing some extra measures across the club:
· NACC has a First Aid Officer, Adam Smith (smithers74@hotmail.com) to whom you can direct any first aid issues, requirements and queries.
· The clubhouse defibrillator is being replaced and updated in late January/early Feb.
· First Aiders’ Register: NACC is establishing a register of trained first aid volunteers. Can TMs please ask their teams/parents and if there are any volunteers with current first aid or CPR certificate (or working as a health practitioner) who are happy to go on the register as potential first aid volunteers for next year (and email details to Emma or Adam for recording).
· NACC has received some Vic Govt funding to provide a certified first aid training course for NACC volunteers and members in February 2026
Certified First Aid Course for all Volunteers: Saturday 21 Feb 2026 (10am-4pm)
· Facilitated by Richmond FC Institute - successful completion gives the participant certificate HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid (incl. HLTAID009 - Provide CPR).
· Online pre-course learning and theory assessment (takes approx. 2-2.5 hours all up) must be completed prior to the attendance at course. Course elements include DRSABCD, CPR, first aid for wounds, bites, stings, fractures and dislocations, eye, dental, concussion and head/neck/body injuries, injury and first aid reporting. For more details about the course outline and program click here - https://sma.org.au/nationally-recognised-training/hltaid011-provide-first-aid/
· NACC aims are to have a certified first aid volunteer for every training and match. If current coaches and TMs cannot attend, please reach out to other parents in your current teams as we would like to have broad representation across teams/ages. Please confirm your attendance by 1 February 2026 to Emma Sherry (esherry@outlook.com) who will provide registration link for access to online learning etc.
